Chiang Mai - Butterfly Farm

OK, this is one of the rarest species in the world, Harinkia benjaminae, haha and a real one: Xylotrupes gideon

Well first of all, let me state, that the Maesa Butterfly Farm is definitely not worth a visit, partly because there are not too many butterflies, the only species which is hatching there regularly is Attacus atlas. They have a few nice boxes with specimen for display, which are quite interesting, and Xylotrupes gideon. It seems, that it was quite a spectacular farm once, with many Thai species fluttering around, but nowadays, nobody really cares for it any longer. Still the Maesa Orchid and butterfly Farm is worth a visit, as the Orchid farm has a nice array of native Thai Orchid species. These days, when most farms breed hybrids, it is a delight to see some pure species. I took many pictures of these, sadly I do not know the species, so if you know them please let me know. Any questions concerning Chiang Mai, please feel free to ask.
