Penang Butterfly Farm
Giant Chalcosoma caucasus at the farm entry. Phasmidae Head close up.
During a short stay in Penang, I had the chance to visit some friends and as well the Penang Butterfly Farm, the world's first tropical live butterfly sanctuary. It is a big Butterfly Garden compared to those in the Cameron Highlands and the European ones. They have many of the Malaysian butterfly species flying around all year in a tropical garden that is surrounded by netting. They have many other insect species on display, such as beetles, leeches, phasmids, reptiles, and so on, as well as a small dried insect museum. Attached are some of the pictures I took there, no more words to describe it, wow.
