Hexarthrius aduncus

Breeding hints:

Hexarthrius are considered to be more tricky to breed than other Lucanidae. Eggs are laid into relatively hard white rotten wood.  Once all breeding conditions are supplied, Hexarthrius seem to be quite prolific breeders. If Hexarthrius aduncus have a similar development as Hexarthrius davisoni, males and females will normally hatch at the same time, as male larvae are growing faster. Larvae can be reared on flake soil or on kinshi.
