Breeding hints:
Prosopocoilus inquinatus yazaki is an interesting small species, which does not seem to be difficult to breed. I have tried twice, once with 2,1 and the female had died in transport, so this did not work out. I then tried with 8 larvae in 2020, which hatched in March 2021 and will be set up for egg laying shortly. All I have heard is that breeding is not complicated, similar to how Prosopocoilus inquinatus is bred. I have reared my larvae on Standard Flake Soil in 70ml containers, which was probably a bit too much space, but the size of the males is worth it. I will publish a detailed breeding report here, once and if I manage to get the next generation. Interestingly, when I got them they were still a P. spec. nov. which was a first for me. Happy to have bred them so shortly after their discovery.
