Distribution:
Uganda (?)
Breeding hints:
Chlorocala are commonly rather easy to breed and quite prolific. Chlorocala africana smaragdina makes for very good beginners species. They can be kept in a leaf-compost substrate, where the females will lay eggs and the larvae will develop. Larvae can be kept together and I have not witnessed any cannibalism.
