Breeding hints:
Dorcus parryi is a quite widespread species and has a number of subspecies. While I am not aware of a specific breeding report for D. parryi setsuroi, I was fortunate enought to keep and breed the Malaysian subspecies of Dorcus parryi volescens. The breeding temperature was room temperature and the female laid the eggs into hard white rotten wood. The larvae were separated into 1 liter glasses that were stuffed with white rotten wood. Pupation took place in the bottom of these glasses. Overall I would consider this a easy to breed species
