Breeding hints:
Dorcus rectus is a very common species and very easy to breed. The females will lay a large number of eggs into white rotten wood. It is advisable to separate the larvae into glasses stuffed with the same white rotten wood. White rot is a fungus that destroys the lignin in the wood and leaves the cellulose, which is the food source of the larva. Alternativly, larvae can be kept in flour fermented mat.
