Breeding hints:

This is the only stag beetle I am aware of that has two distinct colour forms. There is a red variety of Neolucanus doro, as well as one with black elytrae. If I had bred them, well I could tell you if the colours stay throughout the next generations, or if one is dominant.

I never had the chance to keep and breed Neolucanus doro doro. I am also not aware of even the basics of breeding Neolucanus. If you know how to breed Neolucanus doro, please do let me know and help me fill this ‘breeding knowledge gap’. For some odd reason species in the genus Neolucanus seem to be not very high rated on the wanted lists of most hobbyists.
