Breeding hints:

I am not aware of breeding reports for Prosopocoilus forficula. It is not a rare species in the wild, but according to some German specialists and Japanese and Taiwanese sources has not been bred in captivity yet. If you know more about this, please share with us. (Thanks to Paul Käfer for the input, not aware of his real name though :-)) One thing I noticed is that Prosopocoilus forficula austerus, the Taiwanese subspecies is much rarer than the Chinese nominate form. The prizes for telodont specimen of P. forfcula austerus are significantly higher ;(
