Breeding hints:
Cetonia aurata is a very common European Cetonid. They often breed in compost mounds. They are protected in a lot of countries and as such it might not be possible to keep them. Breeding is rather straightforward, eggs are laid into leaf-wood-compost, where the larvae will also develop. Cetonia makes for a good beginners species, but it is advisable to provide for a hibernation period to schedule the hatching from the pupa.
