Distribution:
Italy (No sure about the subspecies status though, it might just be D. p. parallelopipedus)
Breeding hints:
I am not aware that D. parallelopipedus truqui has been bred already, but the breeding should be the same as that of the nominate species. Dorcus parallelopipedus is a very easy to breed species. Females will lay eggs into hard white rotten wood. The larva will feed on the same wood and develop without problems. Pupation is inside the wood.
