Dynastes hercules breeding and keeping report – Part 7: Weight scales and conclusions

This is old data, but nonetheless valid. Should I start breeding Dynastes hercules again, I would make sure to record the data for the larvae. Or even better, if you have data of your larvae, and want to share it, here would be the perfect place.

I am giving you the weights of the larvae, that are, or that have been in my breedings. But, as I made some mistakes keeping them, you can’t use them as an example for regular growing. If you want to know if your larvae are growing right, please calculate about 10 grams per months (less in the smaller instars, more in the bigger instars), with a loss of weight during the molting processes. That would be a normal growing. (Newly acquired larvae are growing that way and that makes me feel happy, ;-))
